In this CAD tutorial we'll use the features:
In Fusion 360, Extrude and Loft are both commands used to create 3D bodies from 2D sketches, but they do so in fundamentally different ways.
Extrude
This is the most common command for turning a 2D sketch into a 3D solid. It works by extending a sketch profile in a straight line, either to add material (a "join" operation) or to remove material (a "cut" operation). It's a simple and direct method for creating features with a uniform cross-section.
Loft
The Loft command creates a 3D shape by blending two or more sketch profiles (or a profile and a point) that are on different planes. Unlike Extrude, which works from a single profile in a single direction, Loft allows you to create complex, organic shapes that smoothly transition from one profile to another. You can use it to make objects like a vase that changes shape from its base to its top, or a boat hull that needs a constantly changing cross-section. You can also add "rails" or "centerlines" to guide the shape of the loft.
All dimensions are in mm/g/s/ISO
