3D Exercise 27

Exercise 27
Exercise 27

In this CAD tutorial we'll use the features:

Extrude

This is the most fundamental command for turning a 2D sketch into a 3D solid. It works by extending a sketch profile in a straight line, either to add material (a "join" operation) or to remove material (a "cut" operation).

Fillet

This command creates a smooth, rounded edge on a part by adding or removing material. You specify a radius for the rounded edge. Fillets are used for both aesthetics and to prevent stress concentrations on sharp corners.

Chamfer

Similar to a fillet, a chamfer is used to modify an edge, but instead of creating a rounded curve, it creates a flat, angled surface. It is often used for aesthetics, to break a sharp corner, or to ease part assembly. You can define the chamfer by equal distances, two distances, or a distance and an angle.

Hole

This is a specialized tool for creating different types of cylindrical cuts in a part. Unlike a simple extruded cut, the Hole command offers options for various industry-standard hole types, including tapped (threaded), clearance, or countersunk holes. It saves time and ensures accuracy by automatically handling the geometry and thread specifications.

All dimensions are in mm/g/s/ISO
