3D Exercise 41

Exercise 41
Exercise 41

In this CAD tutorial we'll use the features:

🧱 Extrude

Extrude is the most fundamental command for turning a 2D sketch into a 3D solid. It works by taking a closed sketch profile and extending it linearly (in a straight line).

  • Function: It can be used to add material (create a "boss" or "base") or to remove material (create a "cut," like a hole or slot).

  • Control: You control the direction and distance of the extension.

🔄 Mirror

The Mirror command is a powerful automation tool used to create a symmetrical copy of existing geometry.

  • Function: It duplicates a selected feature, body, or component across a designated Mirror Plane (or face).

  • Benefit: It saves a significant amount of time by letting you design only one half of a symmetrical object.

📐 Fillet

The Fillet command is used to refine and soften sharp edges on a solid model.

  • Function: It creates a smooth, rounded edge by removing or adding material according to a specified radius.

  • Application: Fillets are used for aesthetics, ergonomics, and—most importantly in engineering—to reduce stress concentrations on corners, making parts more durable.

All dimensions are in mm/g/s/ISO
